Gonstead Chiropractic

Developed by Dr. Clarence Gonstead, this chiropractic method uses a detailed assessment of the spine to guide specific adjustments.

Dr. Onnie’s training includes extensive study with John Thatcher, DC, in the Gonstead method. She considers this training alongside your health history, examination, comfort, and goals.

Chiropractic care is one part of her broader approach. Recommendations may also include Applied Kinesiology, nutrition, and practical changes tailored to your daily life.

Applied Kinesiology

Applied Kinesiology (AK) brings together several forms of assessment to consider the individual as a whole. ICAK-USA describes an approach that includes manual muscle testing, posture, movement, and range of motion alongside a patient’s history and clinical examination.

Muscle testing is one part of the assessment, not a stand-alone diagnosis or a replacement for standard diagnostic methods. Findings are considered together to help guide individualized recommendations.

At Wholistic Family Healthcare, AK is part of Dr. Onnie’s personalized approach, alongside chiropractic care and nutrition. Learn more through the ICAK-USA resources below.

What Is the International College of Applied Kinesiology (ICAK)?

ICAK-USA provides education and resources about Applied Kinesiology for practitioners and the public. Its approach considers structural, chemical, and mental factors together, often illustrated as the “Triad of Health.”
